CThe area that is the restaurant now actually used to be an open courtyard with granite flooring. When the house was first built, the back wall didn’t exist. It was an open covered courtyard and the circular driveway was regarded the entrance for guests. Within the courtyard was a marble fountain in the middle, and arches supporting the house (the wooden beams are still present). About 5 weeks after the house was built, a storm came through and the fountain was destroyed. The reason for this was that the Italian architects built the house to European standards (not Australian).
